The Gardens at Yalding Wedding Photographer | Kent

Emma and Tom got married at The Gardens at Yalding during late summer, when the gardens are in full bloom and the evening light is at its best. The Gardens is a family-owned, exclusive-use wedding venue tucked into the village of Yalding in Kent, sitting between Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells on 12 acres of historic grounds. What makes this venue stand out is the 16 individual landscaped gardens, each with its own theme and planting style, running alongside a contemporary restored barn and two interlinked tipis with cascading fairy lights and fire pits. There's a real "Garden of England" feel to the place, and it's a dream to photograph with so much variety across the grounds. Emma started the day with her bridesmaids at a Victorian Airbnb in Tunbridge Wells before driving over for the ceremony under the wooden gazebo, with Tom and his brother waiting at the altar. After confetti, drinks and live music in the gardens, everyone headed into the tipi for the wedding breakfast. I took Emma and Tom for a relaxed walk around the gardens as the sun was setting around 7pm, before speeches, first dance, cake cut and a proper 80s and 90s rave to finish the evening.

Natural, documentary wedding photography at The Gardens at Yalding

The Gardens at Yalding is a venue that works perfectly with my approach. The 12 acres of grounds, the 16 individual gardens, the tipis and the barn give you a huge amount of variety through the day, and the evening light across the gardens is hard to beat. There's no need to pull the couple away from guests for long, and with exclusive use of the whole venue the day flows at its own pace with everyone in the same place. If you're planning your wedding at The Gardens at Yalding and want a photographer who'll stay in the background and let you enjoy the day, I'd love to hear from you. You can get in touch here or take a look at my pricing and packages.
