The Orangery Maidstone Wedding Photographer | Kent

Meredith and Sumant got married at The Orangery in Maidstone during the autumn, bringing together a Hindu ceremony and a Western ceremony across the day. The Orangery is a multi-award-winning Kent wedding venue set within 9 acres of landscaped gardens on the historic Turkey Mill estate, just outside the centre of Maidstone. The grounds include a private lake, a waterfall, the River Len running through, and mature woodland, which gives you a huge amount of variety for photography without ever having to leave the venue. There are three ceremony spaces to choose from: the indoor Garden Room with its glazed roof lantern, the outdoor Gazebo, and the Lapa overlooking the lake, so whatever the weather or time of year, there's a setting that works. For a fusion wedding like Meredith and Sumant's, the mix of indoor and outdoor spaces really earned its keep, giving each part of the day its own feel.

Natural, documentary wedding photography at The Orangery, Maidstone

The Orangery is a venue that works perfectly with my approach. The lake, the waterfall, the woodland walk and the landscaped gardens give you so much variety without needing to leave the grounds, and the three ceremony spaces mean there's always good light and a clean backdrop wherever the day is happening. There's no need to pull the couple away from guests for long, and the 9 acres of grounds make portrait sessions relaxed and unforced. If you're planning your wedding at The Orangery in Maidstone and want a photographer who'll stay in the background and let you enjoy the day, I'd love to hear from you.
