Deal Town Hall & Pier Wedding Photographer – Kate & George
Kate and George got married in May 2025 in the heart of Deal, with a ceremony at Deal Town Hall followed by portraits around the town and a reception at Deal Pier Kitchen at the very end of Deal Pier. Deal is one of the most characterful coastal towns on the Kent coast, with its Georgian high street, conservation-area backstreets, colourful seafront houses, Deal Castle, and a long pier stretching out into the Channel. Deal Town Hall is a Grade II listed building dating back to 1803, with the ceremony held in the Chamber on the first floor, an elegant oak-panelled room lined with historic oil paintings and portraits of past dignitaries and royalty. After the ceremony we spent time walking the streets of Deal for portraits, making use of the Georgian architecture, the seafront, and the town's cobbled side streets, before heading down the pier for dinner, speeches and the party at Deal Pier Kitchen, which sits right at the end of the pier with views out over the Channel and the Kent coastline on every side.
Natural, documentary wedding photography at Deal Town Hall and Deal Pier Kitchen
Deal is a town built for documentary wedding photography. You've got the Town Hall Chamber with its period character for the ceremony, a conservation-area high street and Georgian backstreets for portraits, the pebble beach and seafront, and Deal Pier Kitchen perched right at the end of the pier with the sea on every side for the reception. The whole day can be walked, which keeps things relaxed and gives you a proper sense of place in the photographs. There's no pressure to stage anything because the town does the heavy lifting, and with the ceremony, portraits and reception all in a few hundred metres of each other it never feels rushed. If you're planning a Deal Town Hall and Deal Pier Kitchen wedding and want a photographer who'll stay in the background and let you enjoy the day, I'd love to hear from you.
