Preston Court Wedding Photographer – Leila & Stephen
Leila and Stephen got married at Preston Court during the late summer of 2023, on the family-run 600-acre private estate just east of Canterbury. Preston Court is one of the most distinctive wedding venues in Kent, built around a Georgian manor house with an oast house, a 17th century oak-framed Kentish Barn, a 12th century Saxon church (St Mildred's) still standing on the estate, and a medieval moated island called Juliana's Island reached by a small iron bridge. There's a choice of three ceremony spaces across the site, and the grounds include ornamental lakes, a Victorian carousel from the 1870s, vintage mechanical organs in the barn, a steam engine collection, bluebell woods and wetlands that border a nature reserve. Peacocks wander the gardens and horses graze in the nearby fields. It's properly one of a kind, and one of the best venues in Kent for photography, with something different to work with at every corner of the estate. For couples after a relaxed, countryside wedding with a bit of character and a lot of space to spread out, Preston Court is hard to beat.
Preston Court is a photographer's dream venue. You've got the Georgian manor, the Kentish Barn, the church, the moated island, the carousel, the mechanical organs, the lakes and the bluebell woods all within the same 600 acres, which means there's no end of places to tell the story of the day. The sheer variety across the estate means every wedding here ends up looking different, and documentary photography works brilliantly because there's always something going on somewhere. There's loads of room for guests to explore, and the couple can escape the crowd for a few minutes of portraits without having to go far. If you're planning your wedding at Preston Court and want a photographer who'll stay in the background and make the most of the estate, I'd love to hear from you.
