Woolton Farm Wedding Photographer – Dan & Amber
Dan and Amber got married at Woolton Farm near Canterbury in August 2024. Woolton Farm is a working Kent farm with apple orchards, gardens, its own on-site winery producing Woolton Wine, and a partnership with Kentish Pip Cider, all centred around a beautiful old barn that doubles as the wedding venue. The barn has enormous windows letting in natural light across the ceremony space, with wooden beams and fairy lights overhead, which gives the whole venue a warm, relaxed feel for the reception. Outside, the apple orchards and gardens are full of beautiful patches of light throughout the day, with plenty of spots for portraits and group shots without having to travel anywhere. For drinks, they serve a brilliant selection of locally-brewed ciders and beers, including from Kentish Pip, so the whole day has a proper sense of place. It's a newer venue on the Kent wedding scene but it's already earned a strong reputation, and for couples after something genuinely rural, a little bit different, and refreshingly low-key, Woolton Farm is a really good fit.
Natural, documentary wedding photography at Woolton Farm, Canterbury
Woolton Farm is the kind of venue documentary photography was made for. There's no attempt at formality, it's a working farm with orchards, a winery, a barn, and a proper rural feel, which means the day unfolds at its own pace and everything tends to happen naturally. Guests spread out across the orchards and gardens during drinks, the natural light inside the barn does most of the work for the ceremony and reception, and with cider and wine from just down the road the whole day has a proper Kent flavour to it. If you're planning your wedding at Woolton Farm and want a photographer who'll stay in the background and capture the day as it actually happens, I'd love to hear from you.
