East Quay Whitstable Wedding Photographer – Amy & Will
Amy and Will got married at The East Quay in Whitstable during the late summer, a genuinely gorgeous time of year on this part of the Kent coast when the light stays soft across the bay well into the evening. The East Quay is a coastal, beachfront wedding venue right on the Whitstable seafront, with an open, stripped-back feel that suits couples after something relaxed and modern rather than traditional. Amy arrived at the venue in a vintage VW camper van, which worked perfectly with the low-key, beach-side feel of the day, and Will was waiting at the altar with his two best men. I was booked for eight hours and started just before the ceremony, catching the arrival, ceremony, confetti and the wedding breakfast, before heading out for a beach walk with Amy and Will at sunset. The light over Whitstable as the sun dropped across the bay gave us some of my favourite portraits from 2021. For anyone after a beach wedding in Kent with a modern, coastal feel, The East Quay is still one of the best spots on the whole coast.

East Quay weddings are made for this style of photography. The venue sits right on the Whitstable seafront, so the sea, the beach, the open walkways and the coastal light are all there in the background of every part of the day without any extra effort. I work quietly in the background and let the venue and the weather do most of the work, and with a beach just metres away there's never any pressure to travel for portraits.
