Faversham Town Hall & Canterbury Wedding Photographer – Lydia & Mike
Lydia and Mike’s wedding was a fun, DIY day that moved between a few different locations, starting at home, then heading to Faversham Town Hall for the ceremony, and finishing at Westgate Hall in Canterbury for the reception.
It had a really relaxed feel from the start. No strict structure, no rushing around, just a day that unfolded naturally as everyone moved between places and settled into each part of it.
That’s one of the things that works well about weddings around Canterbury. Everything is close enough to keep the day flowing, but varied enough to give you completely different backdrops without needing to over-plan anything.
It suits a natural, candid, documentary approach perfectly. You can just follow the day as it happens, rather than trying to control it.
Natural, candid wedding photography in Canterbury
My approach is always to keep things simple. Stay in the background, avoid interrupting what’s happening, and focus on real moments rather than directing the day.
Days like this, spread across different locations from home preparations to a ceremony at Faversham Town Hall and a reception at Westgate Hall in Canterbury, work especially well with that approach. Each part of the day has its own feel, and it’s about capturing that as it naturally unfolds rather than trying to shape it.
Nothing forced, nothing overdone. Just an honest record of how the day actually felt.
If you’re planning your wedding in Canterbury, Faversham, or anywhere nearby and want photography that feels relaxed and unobtrusive, this approach works really well. You can focus on enjoying the day without being pulled away for photos.
