I took these shots whilst covering a wedding at the East Quay wedding venue in Whitstable, Kent. I knew the venue pretty well as my sister had got married there a few weeks earlier but it wasn’t until I pulled out the SLR’s that I realised what a special and unique venue it was for creative shooting. Loads of rustic backdrops, the beach (which is literally right next to it) and some rather cool surf boards and an American “desert-like” wagon by the entrance. I suppose the best way to describe it would be “quirky” and “relaxed” – a great place for an all in one wedding where there is no stress running from venue to venue and for the wedding party to relax ON the beach after the ceremony with some drinks and world famous Whitstable oysters. It half reminded me of two of my favourite places in this world, the Mojave Desert in California and Dungeness.
