The Crescent Turner, Whitstable

I’m on the preferred supplier list at The Crescent Turner and know the wedding coordinators well, having photographed a number of weddings here over the last few years. Set on Wraik Hill just outside Whitstable, it’s a tipi venue with a relaxed, festival feel, and ceremonies take place on the terrace with views out across the estuary. There’s a bridal prep room right beside the ceremony area, which makes the morning really easy, and with 18 bedrooms and plenty of parking, guests can stay over without worrying about getting home.

The evenings are something special. I’ve taken some of my favourite night-time photos inside the tipi, with bands like GrooveZoo getting everyone up dancing, and there’s always a brilliant party. Outside, there’s a lovely little spot for drinks looking out over the town, perfect for a breather between songs. Even when it rains, the tipi keeps the whole party together and the atmosphere never drops.
